In the early 1980s, my parents, John and Sandy Peterson, began spending their weekends as “swap meet warriors,” searching for unusual treasures and forgotten gems. What started as a fun hobby soon became a passion — especially for my dad, who loved restoring old items and bringing them back to life.

In 1985, they took a leap of faith and opened Just For Fun in Whittier, California. Their love for nostalgia and craftsmanship quickly became the heart of the business. From restoring vintage gas pumps and Coca-Cola machines to classic candy, popcorn, and gumball machines, they built a reputation for high-quality restorations that captured the spirit of simpler times.

As the business grew, they moved to Orange, California — the hub of antiques in Southern California — and for over 30 years, John and Sandy shared their passion with collectors from around the world.

Today, I’m proud to continue their legacy as their daughter, Alisa, carrying on the same dedication to authenticity, craftsmanship, and joy that my parents poured into every piece. Just For Fun remains true to its name — a celebration of timeless treasures, lovingly restored to bring happiness for generations to come.
